MISSION STATEMENT

Spay Neuter Idaho Pets, Inc. (SNIP) is dedicated to improving the lives of Idaho’s cats and dogs by reducing overpopulation through the affordable SNIP Clinic.

VISION

We serve the animals of our community by providing life-saving programs for cats and dogs, cultivating compassion, and strengthening the human-animal bond

HISTORY

Spay Neuter Idaho Pets, Inc. was founded as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in 2008 by a core group of animal welfare advocates who wanted to focus their energy on improving the health of Idaho’s cats and dogs through preventative care.

Recognizing that spay and neuter is one of the most effective tools the animal welfare community has to combat homelessness and the needless euthanasia of dogs and cats, Spay Neuter Idaho Pets formed a voucher program that worked with the veterinary community to provide spay and neuter services at reduced rates for income-qualifying Idahoan’s. During that timespan, we issued over 25,000 spay or neuter vouchers to local pet owners that would not have been able to sterilize their pet otherwise, reducing overpopulation exponentially.

As the need for our spay and neuter voucher program continued to grow with each passing year, it became clear that it was time to open our own facility.

Thanks to the combined efforts of individual, corporate and foundation supporters, our dream of opening the SNIP Clinic came to fruition in 2018.

Our Clinic programs are dedicated to helping communities throughout Idaho maintain a sustainable pet population by offering easy access to exceptional, affordable, veterinary care. We specialize in high-volume spay and neuter surgery, vaccination and microchip services to Idaho’s pet parents, nonprofit animal rescues, shelters and community partners.

GOLD STANDARD OF CARE

The SNIP Clinic has integrated the nationally recognized, Gold Standard of care model through the ASPCA Humane Alliance, allowing us to best serve those with limited resources and access to care. We accomplish this goal by:
  • Combating pet overpopulation through affordable spay and neuter surgery, preventing unwanted litters of puppies and kittens and enabling pets to live longer, healthier lives.
  • Humanely stopping the exponential growth of the community cat population by trapping, sterilizing and vaccinating community cats.
  • Preventing costly illnesses by offering affordable core vaccines.
  • Ensuring that lost pets are returned to their pet parents if lost, rather than entering a shelter, by offering affordable microchips with lifetime registrations.
  • Collaborating with our community partners to better serve pets and people in our community.

Dr. Florence Millard is a dedicated and experienced veterinarian with over 20 years of clinical practice, all proudly rooted in Idaho. A 2005 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Millard’s passion for animal care began early—she’s been working in the veterinary field since the age of 13.

Dr. Millard joined our team in 2018, and values the incredible team and the meaningful, impactful work they do together for the community.

When she’s not at the clinic, Dr. Millard is busy on her family’s farm, where they raise alfalfa, corn, Corriente cattle, and show pigs. She also spends much of her time traveling the country to attend junior livestock shows where her daughter competes with pigs and lambs—a shared passion and a way of life.

Lead Veterinary Technician

I have always loved animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Mississippi, I spent many weekends at the animal shelter helping my aunt care for the animals. Everything from cleaning to helping with medical care. Like most animal crazy kids, I wanted to be a vet when I grew up. Instead, I became the next best thing!

I graduated in 2016 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. Since graduating, I have worked in equine medicine, general practice and shelter medicine. Over the years, I have found my passion in low-cost spay and neuter. I am so happy to be a part of the SNIP team providing the community with affordable pet care.

Dusti is a Veterinary Technician for the SNIP Clinic. She was born in Denver Colorado but soon became an Idahoan at the age of 1. She grew up in the country and was the kid who brought home all the strays!!

She has owned many pets from horses, pigs, dogs and cats to a parrot named Harvey. Dusti has always had a love for working and helping animals and strives to show that love through her work. In her spare time she enjoys camping, hiking and spending quality time with her family.

Dusti is extremely happy to be able to help community pets through SNIP Clinic.

With 18 years of experience in animal medicine, Leslie has spent most of her career at the Idaho Humane Society veterinary medical center. Her dedication to animal welfare is evident in her fostering efforts for rescues. Leslie lives on a small farm with her husband and two daughters, accompanied by a menagerie of 10 chickens, 3 goats, 2 cows, 2 dogs and a feral cat colony.

Samantha discovered her passion for veterinary medicine after moving to Idaho and assisting friends with veterinary care for their horses. These experiences deepened her love for animals and their health and her commitment to care for them grew stronger. When she’s not working, she enjoys riding horses with her husband, relaxing on the couch with a good book and some tea, or going on a hike. Samantha is proud to be part of the team at SNIP, helping provide affordable care to pet owners.
